Ian looking dapper in his "1st Christmas" outfit. He kind of looked like a little elf!

Mom and Dad with Ian. It was so fun to have so many Grandparents :)
This Christmas was a bit different. Since Christmas was on a Sunday; that meant we needed to stick around for the church services (Christmas Eve, Sunday, and then Monday night). That also meant that Brett and I celebrated our first Christmas as a married couple in Fort Jones and we actually got to host. We did not have a huge crew (a total of 6 adults and 1 baby) but it certainly filled our tiny house. It was nice for me because I like to cook and had lots of hands to help with Ian.
On Christmas Eve I kept up the tradition by making a big breakfast and then having soups (chicken noodle and a really good hamburger & barley) and snacks in the afternoon/evening. Mom and Dad brought quite a bit of food along with the long grocery list I gave them, so the house was jam packed with all kinds of yummy stuff. On Christmas Day we celebrated with prime rib, roasted red potatoes, Italian green beans, and Triple Chocolate Cake. That meal was certainly a community effort; everyone had a hand in making the prime rib since no one was practiced at preparing it! The cake also served as birthday cake for both Dad and Jack because they have birthdays very close to Christmas.
Ian liked to be the center of attention and he entertained everyone with his new trick..rolling over from his front to his back!
