Brett and I got a new kitty about a month ago and named the cat Uno. (We didn't know if it was a boy or girl so we had to call it a unisex name). Anyway, we found out that it is a girl and she is sure a lot of fun and VERY personable. She loves to play and loves to cuddle. My mom even liked the cat- which for those of you that don't know, she isn't fond of very many animals!
We were thinking about getting a kitten so that our dog, Kota, would get used to cats. He likes to chase them and so we thought if we get a kitten she will just want to play with the dog. It has worked so far and they are doing fairly well together, although Uno annoys Kota sometimes :) We also got a cat so that our mouse and ground squirrel population would go down. I am so proud of our little kitty- she already got her first mouse! The bad part of that was that she decided to place it under our bed and we didn't find it for a day or so, which means it was pretty stinky!

Leaving the mousie under your bed was Uno's way of saying "Thank you for being such a nice Mommie and Daddy to me!" Sarah-Tiger used to leave her love offerings under our dining room table. Now cats take this bit about where to leave an especially tasty morsel very, very seriously. It might say something about the cat's perception of what is important to the cat's owner, but I'm not going to go there!
